If you’re about to travel for the holidays, then you need to do everything you can to keep your braces in tip-top shape. That way you can remain on track with your treatment process as you visit with family members and friends. To help you take care of your braces while you travel, our orthodontist, Dr. Victoria Lynskey, is happy to give you some tips.
– Keep up on oral hygiene: To do so, you can’t forget to pack your soft-bristled toothbrush, dental floss, and flossing tools. Make sure to brush after every meal and snack and floss at least once a day.
– Reschedule your adjustment appointment: If your adjustment appointment is scheduled for a time when you will be gone, please reschedule it. It makes our team’s job a lot easier when we know that you can’t make it ahead of time.
– Stay away from braces-harming foods: You know the products that can harm your braces (hard, sticky, and hard-to-eat foods), so please avoid them at all costs. You don’t want to break a bracket or wire while you’re away, do you?
