When do kids start wearing Invisalign clear aligners and how long does it take?
- Most kids start Invisalign between ages 6 to 10, when they have a combination of baby teeth and permanent teeth. But Invisalign can be worn by teens and adults.
- Most kids complete Invisalign in 6–18 months, depending on the complexity of their orthodontic issues and how well they comply with wearing the aligners. Luckily, Invisalign can be removed for meals, so there are none of the food restrictions of braces.

Align Technology also makes the iTero 3D digital imaging scanners we use at Lynskey Orthodontics. We have two of Align Technology’s scanners, and Dr. Lynskey uses the 3D images to capture the details of your child’s teeth and gums so that their Invisalign aligners fit precisely. This also means there’s no need for your child to bite into a putty-filled mold to create impressions of their teeth.
