What is invisalign

What is invisalign?

Invisalign are transparent removable aligners that achieve a beautiful smile without the fixed brackets and wires of traditional braces.

It’s a nearly invisible orthodontic treatment for people looking to improve their smile and bite with minimum disruption to their lifestyle and appearance.

How does Invisalign work?

Invisalign straightens your teeth with a series of computer-designed clear aligners that are 3D printed from scans of your teeth. Each set of these aligners makes small adjustments to tooth position, gradually moving them into the desired alignment.

We do all the 3D scanning in-house at our Santa Rosa office. Approximately every two weeks, you advance to the next set of custom aligners, and your teeth are gently guided to their ideal positions.

Invisalign is suitable for children and adults. The aligners are worn for 20 to 22 hours a day and can be removed for meals, oral hygiene, or special events, providing convenience and control throughout your treatment.

Why choose Lynskey Orthodontics

Why choose Lynskey Orthodontics?

We're your most experienced provider of Invisalign in Sonoma County. Dr. Lynskey was certified in 1999, the year Invisalign became available. In 2006, UC San Francisco named her Associate Clinical Professor and Director of the Invisalign Curriculum for orthodontic residents. She spent the next seven years training future orthodontists in Invisalign use.

Because of this expertise, we often see patients other practices are too inexperienced to treat, or patients who have been told they are not eligible for Invisalign. So if you believe you're not a candidate, come in for a free consultation. And if you have any questions, we're always happy to talk!

Invisalign's advantages

Efficacy

One of the primary benefits of Invisalign is how well it works. Invisalign custom-fit aligners are created using a 3D digital scan of your unique teeth. They fit perfectly, making progress easier to monitor and ensuring each set perfectly matches each stage of your treatment plan.

Discreetness

Another reason people love Invisalign is its nearly invisible appearance. Crafted from a clear, non-toxic thermoplastic resin, these aligners are inconspicuous and an excellent option for anyone seeking a subtle orthodontic solution.

Comfort

Beyond appearance, Invisalign delivers comfort. The aligners' smooth, flexible material fits snugly against your teeth and follows your gum line which helps prevent the irritation often associated with traditional metal braces.

Hygiene

Since the aligners are removable, you can continue your normal brushing and flossing routines without the brackets and wires of traditional braces, making it easy to maintain your normal oral health routine.

Optimized material

Unlike typical plastics, Invisalign was developed specifically to combine elasticity and controlled forces that gently and gradually move your teeth. Invisalign aligners are non toxic, free from BPA, BPS, and phthalates, ensuring safety for oral use.

Frequently asked questions

Is Invisalign as effective as braces?

Yes—Invisalign clear braces can treat simple to complex cases with the appropriate assessment and planning.
Invisalign typically takes between 12 and 20 months. As an experienced Invisalign provider, Dr. Lynskey takes pride in finishing on or ahead of time. Each case is different, so at your complimentary exam, she’ll let you know when to expect treatment to be completed and what your smile will look like. If you wear your aligners the recommended 20-22 hours per day, half of the battle is won.

We apply the latest orthodontic technology to reduce the number of follow-up visits required. We monitor our Invisalign patients remotely from our Santa Rosa offices using a smartphone application. You perform a 30-second scan from home or on the go, and it allows us to assess your progression without the need for you to travel to us.

From your remote scans, we can monitor the treatment and schedule your in-office follow-up visits at just the right time. This both reduces your overall time in aligners and minimizes the impact on your lifestyle.

As a provider and clinical educator for Invisalign for over 20 years, Dr. Lynksey regularly treats the more challenging cases that other providers feel incapable of treating. If you were told no elsewhere, schedule an appointment and let’s talk about your situation. It will be zero-obligation and jargon free!

With Invisalign, we use remote monitoring to evaluate when it’s the right time for you to come in. These virtual check-up scans take two minutes using your smartphone and can be performed from home or anywhere on the go. They result in more accurate treatment timing and shorter overall treatment time, meaning fewer visits to our office and less disruption to your life.

Our Invisalign case costs run from $3,300 to $7,400 depending upon the complexity.

At Lynskey Orthodontics, we strongly believe nothing should stand in the way of health care for you or your family. We offer our Santa Rosa and Sonoma County communities flexible monthly payment plans, 0% interest financing, and extended payment options.

Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign, and our team will assist by verifying your benefits, submitting the claims, and accepting assignment of benefits to help reduce your overall out-of-pocket expenses.

Orthodontic care is also an eligible medical expense for HSA or FSA plans, and many families use these funds toward treatment costs.
